Poll Report August 2010

In August of 2010, we asked our readers what their favorite series was according to the choices. As usual, the results were not surprising.

1. The Circle by Ted Dekker (50%)
2. The Baxter Saga by Karen Kingsbury (21%)
3. The Bun Man Novels by Tim Downs (14%)
4. The Occupational Hazards by Rene Gutteridge\The Ty Buchanan series by James Scott Bell (each 7%)

Stay tuned for round two.

At last, the final results have come in. Our readers' ultimate favorite author has been chosen, and his easy victory was not a surprise to us.

1. Ted Dekker (33%)

Though he did not reach the fiftieth percentile, his thirty-three was good enough to take the title of Reader's Choice Favorite Author 2009-2010.

2. Randy Singer (20%)

Randy takes home a runner-up spot because his twentieth percentile was not enough to steal the win from King Ted.

3. Robin Parrish\Rene Gutteridge (each 16%)

4. Brandilyn Collins (8%)

5. Mary E DeMuth (4%)

As for who we cast our vote for, that will be an eternal mystery.

We asked our readers which of the first six Left Behind books was their favorite, and the results are not surprising.

1. Left Behind (57%)

2. Assassins (28%)

3. Tribulation Force (14%)

4. Nicolae\Soul Harvest\Apollyon (each 0%)

April 2010 Poll Report

In the month of April, year 2010, we asked our readers who their favorite author was according to the choices. The results were slightly surprising:

1. Lisa Samson\Mary E DeMuth

2. Donita K Paul\Harry Kraus\Eric Wilson

Lisa Samson and Mary E DeMuth will both be advanced to the semifinals.

1. C.S. Lewis (84%)

2. Travis Thrasher (16%)

3. Jeanette Windle\Karen Hancock\Randy Ingermanson (each 0%)

C.S. Lewis will advance to the final round of authors.

February 2010 Poll Report

In the month of February, year 2010, we asked our readers who their favorite author was according to the choices. Here are the results:

1. Randy Alcorn (44%)

This was a surprise because we were undecided to his standing in the spec world. Clearly we have a handful of readers who like this apparently retired author. He will advance to the final round, which will come later this year.

2. Athol Dickson\Robert Liparulo (both 22%)

One of these was picked to win the poll, but our readers had other ideas.

3. Robert Whitlow (11%)

Clearly not many people understand Robert Whitlow, including us.

4. Sigmund Brouwer (0%)

Stay tuned for March's primary poll, in which you can choose another author according to the choices to advance to the final round.

As for who won our vote, that will remain an eternal mystery.

December Poll Report

In the month of December, year 2009, we asked our avid fans what their favorite author was according to our provided choices. The results are not surprising:

1. Ted Dekker (86%)

King Ted rises again. It is clear that our readers are spec fans, and since Ted is the Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson of our times in Christian fiction, his landslide victory is not a surprise.

2. Francine Rivers (14%)

Someone out there stuck up for ol' Fran. Obviously she has not lost all of her fans in her absence.

3. Frank Peretti\Nancy Moser\Gilbert Morris (each 0%)

And the others. Although these three were once popular in some way, their times are obviously passed.

As for who won our vote, that will remain an eternal mystery. Stay tuned for the next poll, in which you can cast your vote for your favorite book of 2009, according to our choices.

Poll Report for November 2009

During the month of November 2009, we asked our readers what their favorite author was according to the choices, so here are the results:

1. Robin Parrish\Brandilyn Collins (both 33%)

Since they are tied, we will send both authors to the final round, scheduled for April 2010.

2. Jerry B Jenkins (27%)

Jerry fell short, probably because of his low standing in the spec world.

3. Tim LaHaye (9%)

His popularity lies mostly in the non-fiction market.

4. Alton Gansky (0%)

Everyone must be tired of old Al. However, his standing in the spec world made me think he would get more than none.

As for who we voted for, that will remain a mystery forever.

Poll Report August 2009

Which of these is your favorite author?
This was the first question we asked in our existence. Here are the results:

1. Randy Singer (50% of votes)
This was a stunner for us because we were sure Karen Kingsbury would win. This shows the sensibility of our viewers. We think several of our author friends chose this one as well.

2. James Scott Bell (25% of votes)
We think that James voted for himself (sorry, James). We are also quite sure that Randy Singer did not vote for himself.

3. Karen Kingsbury (17% of votes)
We don't really understand this outcome, but we are pretty sure Trisha Kingsbury voted for her sister.

4. Angela Hunt (8% of votes)

5. T Davis Bunn (0% of votes)
This one also shows the sensibility of our viewers. T isn't as good or as popular as he thinks he is.

Thank you everyone for casting your vote! Be sure to vote for the current poll.
As for which author we cast our vote to, that will be an eternal mystery.
