Pirate Hunter by Tom Morrisey

It might be time for Tom Morrisey to hang the hat up on writing books. Pirate Hunter does not reflect his creativity at all. It reminded me more of Yucatan Deep than anything.
The plot is split between the past and the present. The past follows a young pirate named Ted who is on a ship guarding a treasure no one but themselves no about.
The present is a first-person account of Greg, a college student who's into diving. He ends up looking for the treasure the ship Ted was on held. As a first-person point of view, Greg should be a good character. But he's not. He has hardly any thoughts about anything. His dialogue is robotic. He says everything he should say.
The romantic subplots for each time period are introduced immediately. They are overemphasized and ridiculous.
The characters aren't any good.
This book is a half effort of Tom Morrisey's part. It's like he didn't even try. This plot is something anyone could write and thus is basically a waste of your time.
