When a teenager is caught on video shooting up a little league baseball team during a game, a public defender is assigned to him. But all the teen will say during interrogation is "God told me to do it." Of course, our public defender spends most of the book trying to figure out what he means by that.
One plus about this book is the squelching of the potential romantic subplot halfway through the book. The characters are pretty good, not up to Bell's usual caliber, however.
The title of the book probably gives away too much about the end. At least the teen didn't get completely off like some authors would have had him do.
This book is just basically average.
