Though there's nothing wrong with it, By Dawn's Early Light falls short of its predecessor. Daniel and Sarah are hardly in the book at all, which was a disappointment to me. It takes another track to follow a spy for Daniel, a mistress of the current Russian leader. It is interesting, however, how Hunt and Jeffery tie in Biblical prophecies with their fiction.
There is also an odd parallel story about the relationship between an American soldier and a Israeli agent. That story has a very strange ending that is so strange it's unnecessary.
Probably the best scene in the book is the scene of God's judgement on Russia. It's very creative and the only thing that makes this book worth reading.
Overall, the book is worth reading but is a disappointment to the first.
